Metro SWAT handles 4-hour barricade situation

A Metro SWAT unit was called to a central valley home for nearly four hours Saturday afternoon after a man locked himself in the house following a domestic dispute, Las Vegas police said.

Officers responded about 2:30 p.m. to a domestic dispute in the 1500 block of Bracken Avenue, near the intersection of Maryland Parkway and Oakey Boulevard, Romane said.

The man refused to come out of the home for about four hours. It was later learned that he was not armed.

The man came out of the house and was taken into custody without incident about 6:30 p.m., Metro Lt. Ken Romane said. No one was injured in the arrest.
