Monorail hits milestone: 55 millionth rider

What’s in a number?

Fifty-five million, say.

The Las Vegas Monorail Co. gave a ride to its 55 millionth customer on Saturday.

And that lucky rider, identified as Wisconsin resident Kelsey Spatz, in town with her mother, Michelle Spatz, received a host of gifts, from free weekend lodging at a Las Vegas hotel to souvenirs and tickets to Las Vegas shows and attractions.

“This marks another milestone for the Las Vegas Monorail,” Ingrid Reisman, vice president of corporate communications, said in a prepared statement. “Since opening, we’ve continued to provide both tourists and locals a clean, safe and convenient way to navigate the traffic and crowds of the Las Vegas Strip.”
