Motorcycle accident leaves one dead, other critical

One person was killed and another critically injured in a motorcycle accident in the northwest Las Vegas Valley early Saturday morning.

A black 1987 Yamaha motorcycle ran off Buffalo Drive, striking a traffic sign near Summerlin Parkway around 2 a.m., according to a Nevada Highway Patrol spokesman.

The 26-year-old female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver, who the NHP identified as an adult male, remained in critical condition at University Medical Center.

The woman had not been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office as of Saturday night.
