Motorcyclist critically injured in western Las Vegas crash

A motorcyclist was hospitalized in critical condition after a crash in the west valley Monday night, according to Las Vegas police.

Police said in a release that at 8:01 p.m., the motorcyclist, Vrej Khatcherian, 31, of Las Vegas, was driving a motorcycle at a high rate of speed northbound on Durango Drive, north of Charleston Boulevard. At the same time a woman driving a 2017 Subaru made a left turn from the right of three northbound Durango Drive travel lanes, south of Boseck Drive.

The motorcycle overturned and ended up on its side, with Khatcherian sliding into the rear of the Subaru. Khatcherian was taken to University Medical Center where he remained in critical condition as of early Tuesday.

The driver of the Subaru remained at the scene and did not show signs of impairment.
