Motorcyclist injured in Wednesday crash dies
A motorcyclist hospitalized Wednesday after an early morning crash died of his injuries a day later, police announced Monday.
Dennis A. Fletcher, 62, was thrown from his 1992 Harley Davidson around 1:20 a.m. Wednesday after a wreck with a 2012 Ford Focus, police said. The crash happened when the Ford turned left from South Durango Drive, near the Alta Drive intersection, just as the motorcycle was heading north on Durango Drive, south of Venetian Strada.
Fletcher was taken to University Medical Center, where he died Thursday of blunt force trauma to the head, the corner's office said Monday.
His death was the 18th traffic-related fatality within Metro's jurisdiction this year.
