Motorcyclist killed in collision identified
The motorcyclist killed Thursday afternoon in a collision in the west valley has been identified as Travis James Falder, 21, of Las Vegas.
Falder was riding a 2008 Honda motorcycle north on Fort Apache Road near Desert Inn Road when he hit the rear passenger door of a 1992 Honda Civic.
The Civic was traveling south on Fort Apache and the driver was preparing to turn left onto Lake South Drive.
The bike traveled over the vehicle and Falder died at the scene.
The driver of the Civic, Jacob Tabak, 73, of Las Vegas, wasn't injured. His female passenger, 90, suffered moderate injuries.
Police said Falder may have been speeding. The collision remains under investigation.
The incident was the 67th traffic fatality reported by the Metropolitan Police Department this year.
