Motorcyclist killed in North Las Vegas crash

One man died after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a truck Monday afternoon, North Las Vegas police said.

Police Department spokesman Aaron Patty said the crash happened about 3:45 p.m. near the Lake Mead Boulevard and Bruce Street intersection.

The motorcycle rider died at the scene. Witnesses told police that the 20-year-old motorcycle rider ran a red light. The investigation revealed that he was likely speeding when he hit the truck, which was turning at the intersection.

The 52-year-old truck driver had minor injuries and stayed at the scene, Patty said.

The intersection was closed in all four directions for several hours while police investigated.

The identity of the man who died will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office after his family has been notified.
