NHP releases more details on fatal crash on Blue Diamond Road

The 52-year-old man who died Monday night after a crash on Blue Diamond Road at Decatur Boulevard was not wearing a seat belt, according to Nevada Highway Patrol.

Lance Horton of Henderson was driving east about 11 p.m. in a maroon 2006 Kia Sedona on Blue Diamond approaching Decatur when he ran into a tractor-trailer stopped at a traffic light, NHP said Wednesday. Horton died at the scene.

The 40-year-old Las Vegas man driving the semi, a blue 2014 Freightliner towing a flatbed trailer, was not hurt.

This is NHP’s 54th fatal crash of 2014.
