Two people were expected to survive after being shot at the Broadacres Open Air Swap Meet in North Las Vegas on Sunday afternoon, according to a police spokesman.
The two people, who are believed to be male, were taken to an area hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, said Aaron Patty, a spokesman with the North Las Vegas police department. Police did not release ages or any other details about the people who were shot.
First responders were called to the swap meet, 2930 Las Vegas Boulevard North, near Pecos Road, about 2:50 p.m., Patty said.
The outdoor shopping center sits on 44 acres of land with 22 acres of parking, according to its website. Hundreds of people, which consisted mostly of families and vendors, remained at the marketplace following the shooting, but shopping center staff would not allow reporters inside.
Police believe that this was not a random act of violence, Patty said, but no arrests have been reported.
