North Las Vegas police seek information in fatal accident

North Las Vegas police officers on Tuesday are seeking information in a mid-August fatal hit-and-run accident.

The accident, which happened on Aug. 16, killed 63-year-old William Edward Mazzoccoli, police said.

Officers were called to the 2300 block of Las Vegas Boulevard North, near East Carey Avenue, about 5:30 a.m., police said. When they arrived, they found Mazzoccoli suffering from critical injuries. He died at University Medical Center, police said.

The investigation determined that Mazzoccoli was crossing the street outside of a crosswalk when he was struck by a silver Mitsubishi Galant, 1999 to 2003. The driver of that car did not stop, police said.

Police said the Galant is possibly missing the passenger side-view mirror.
