One dead after northeast valley homicide

One male is dead after a homicide in the northeast valley Wednesday night, the Metropolitan Police Department confirmed.

Officers were called to the Adobe Villas apartment complex at 3550 E. Lake Mead Boulevard, near the Pecos Road intersection, at 7:23 p.m., where they and responding medical crews found him dead on scene.

"It is being reported that a person was shot," said Metro Lt. Harry Demetrus, who added that the shooting was "not confirmed at this time."

Metro spokeswoman officer Laura Meltzer said one caller who reported the possible shooting said the male who died was on the ground outside an apartment building before police arrived.

A suspect is not in custody, Meltzer said.

Traffic in the immediate area is shut down as homicide detectives investigate.
