Pedestrian critically injured, driver accused of DUI in Saturday crash

A pedestrian was critically injured and a driver was accused of DUI after a crash late Saturday night in front of Palace Station, Las Vegas police said.

Louis Bugsley, 62, of Las Vegas, was in a crosswalk just before 11 p.m. on Sahara Avenue at Palace Station "against the pedestrian signal" when he was hit by a 1999 Chevrolet Corvette driven by Emanuel Alcantar-Sanchez, 29, of Las Vegas. Alcantar-Sanchez did have a green light, police said in a news release.

Bugsley was taken to University Medical Center with critical injuries.

Alcantar-Sanchez failed sobriety tests and was arrested, police said. He was facing at least one DUI charge.

The crash is being investigated.
