Pedestrian dies after Vegas hit-and-run
A pedestrian hospitalized after being struck in a September hit-and-run has died, Las Vegas police said on Monday.
Gosani Vallabhdas, 76, of India, was crossing Industrial Road near Circus Circus Drive outside of a marked crosswalk shortly before 8 p.m. on Sept. 11, police said. He was struck by a 2009 Ford Explorer driven by Scott Lefkowitz, 52, police said.
Vallabhdas had been hospitalized at University Medical Center with serious injuries until his death on Sept. 25, police said.
Lefkowitz fled the scene and was arrested later at his workplace, police said in September. He faces one felony count of leaving the scene of an accident and has a court appearance scheduled for Oct. 16.
