Pedestrian hurt after being hit by vehicle Wednesday night

One person was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday night in the northeast valley, Las Vegas police said.

A pedestrian was hit by a car on Lake Mead Boulevard and Ringe Lane just after 6 p.m. Additional details were not immediately available.

He was taken to University Medical Center in unknown condition, police said.

Eastbound Lake Mead between Nellis Boulevard and Betty Lane was shutdown while officers investigate.
