Pedestrian identified in fatal hit-and-run
The pedestrian killed by a hit-and-run driver Tuesday night has been identified as Gabriel Martinez-Sarmiento of Las Vegas.
Las Vegas police said Martinez-Sarmiento was crossing Lamb Boulevard north of Cincinnati Avenue outside of a crosswalk when he was struck by a coupe traveling north on Lamb.
Martinez-Sarmiento died at the scene of the 11:34 p.m. accident.
Police said the driver, Muvaraq Hanga-Taylor, 31, fled the scene and was arrested later. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and hit-and-run charges.
