Las Vegas police are searching for the driver of a vehicle that struck a pedestrian near Circus Circus Hotel and Casino early Monday morning.

The unidentified male pedestrian, of Grand Junction, Colo., is in critical condition after being struck just after 3 a.m. at the Hilton Grand Vacation Suites, 2650 Las Vegas Boulevard, near the intersection of Circus Circus Drive, according to a Metro release.

He was crossing Las Vegas Boulevard outside of a marked crosswalk when he was struck, police said. The man was taken to University Medical Center.

“Pedestrian error appears to be the cause of this collision,” the release said.

The driver took off and hasn’t been found, police said.

Police said the vehicle is possibly red and should have damage to the front and left side.
