Pipe bombs recovered at Lake Mohave
Officials at Lake Mohave found three pipe bombs underwater near Laughlin, the U.S National Park Service and Arizona’s Kingman police said Monday.
The area, about 100 miles south of Las Vegas, was closed while authorities investigated the explosives, according to a news release. The explosives were found on Monday and the area has since reopened.
A visitor reported two suspicious pipes in the water near Turkey Cove south of Katherine Landing, about 2 p.m. on Sunday. and called the Lake Mead National Recreation Area communications center.
Kingman police rendered the explosives safe, the release said. The contents of the pipe bombs are being investigated.
The Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms was also called.
