Police classify shooting that killed 3 as murder-suicide

A weekend shooting that took the lives of three people at an apartment complex near Maryland Parkway and Desert Inn Road is being investigated as a murder-suicide, Las Vegas police said Monday.

Officers were called to the 1000 block of Lisbon Avenue about 2:30 p.m. and found two females and a male with gunshot wounds, police said in a news release. They were on a sidewalk.

They were pronounced dead at the scene. No other information about their age or identities was available. The Clark County coroner’s office will identify them.

Police said the three were arguing when the male, who was in a relationship with one of the females, pulled a handgun and shot the females several times before turning the gun on himself, police said.

The deaths of the females mark Metro’s 29th and 30th homicides for 2015.
