Police ID woman killed in apparent domestic dispute

A woman who police say was killed near South Durango Drive and Sahara Avenue on Friday night, has been identified as Iris Moran, 37, from Las Vegas, according to the Clark County Coroner’s office.

On Saturday, Marvin Moran, 36, was charged with first-degree murder and kidnapping. Homicide detectives said the killing was domestic-related.

Police responded to the 2600 block of Durango about 6:15 a.m Friday after receiving an anonymous call that a woman was dying in an apartment. Metro found the woman inside unresponsive and she appeared to be severely beaten.

The woman’s cause and manner of death have not yet been released by the Clark County coroner’s office.

The homicide was Metro’s 60th for 2014.
