Police: Overnight shootings leave 1 wounded

Two separate overnight shootings that sent one to the hospital were being investigated by Las Vegas police, the department said on Thursday.

A possible road rage incident may have triggered occupants from two vehicles to shoot at each other from moving cars in the northwest valley, Metro spokesman officer Jesse Roybal said. It happened shortly before 9 p.m. near the 6300 block of Centennial Center Boulevard in Centennial Center.

The bullets didn’t appear to strike anything, Roybal said. No injuries or arrests were reported.

Across town in the 500 block of East Sahara, just east of Las Vegas Boulevard near the SLS, a person waiting for a bus told officers that he had been shot by an unknown shooter shortly after midnight Thursday. He was able to walk to a nearby store and call police, Roybal said.

That person was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with wounds police did not consider life-threatening, Roybal said.

No arrests were reported.
