Power outage affects 10,000 in east Las Vegas

Nearly 10,000 customers near East Sahara Avenue and South Sloan Lane were without power Wednesday morning. As of 9 a.m., the number dropped to about 500 customers.
The outage, which peaked at 9,690 customers, was reported about 6:30 a.m., according to NV Energy. The company estimated power would be fully restored by 10 a.m.
The cause of the outage is listed on NV Energy’s website as an equipment issue.
