Rainbow reopens after backyard debris burns

Burning debris in a west valley backyard closed down traffic on Rainbow Boulevard Monday morning, according to the Clark County Fire Department.

Fire crews responded to the blaze just after 6 a.m.

Investigators said the fire started in a large collection of debris in a yard in the 2700 block of South Rainbow Boulevard, near Sahara Avenue.

No one was injured during the fire, which did not spread to the home and only damaged some exterior stucco, the fire department said.

Rainbow was closed in both directions between Sahara and Edna for firefighters and investigators to work, but the road reopened before 9 a.m.
