School district: Nothing hazardous at Rancho High
A hazardous material investigation at Rancho High School turned up nothing harmful, according to the Clark County School District.
School police spokesman Capt. Ken Young said his department got a call about 9 a.m. Monday from a teacher who said students were “playing around with a substance.”
Young did not disclose details on what the substance was except that it was not hazardous.
Students did not have any reactions from the material but are being check out by first responders, Young said.
Las Vegas and North Las Vegas fire departments responded before 11 a.m. to what was initially reported as a “hazmat” incident at the school at 1900 Searles Avenue in North Las Vegas.
