Search underway for man missing at Lake Mohave
August 18, 2014 - 10:34 am
The National Park Service on Monday was looking for a California man who went missing at Lake Mohave over the weekend.
Officials received a call around noon Saturday about a 31-year-old Southern California man who had jumped off a boat near Cottonwood Cove, about 70 miles southeast of Las Vegas. He was last seen struggling under water, the park service said.
Witnesses told the park service that the man was not wearing a life jacket.
The man was believed to be about 100 feet away from the shoreline. Water there could reach 100 feet in depth, the park service said.
Low visibility caused by recent storms have made the search more demanding, the park service said.
