The teacher mauled by a pit bull on Thursday was released from the hospital this morning.

The attack happened about 3 p.m. in front of John F. Miller School for special education, near Eastern and Sahara avenues, Las Vegas police said. The woman was transported to University Medical Center in serious condition.

Animal control found the dog nearby and impounded the animal, city spokesman Jace Radke said.
