Teacher’s aide arrested in lewdness probe

A 29-year-old teacher's aide at a middle school has been arrested in connection with a lewdness investigation involving a student, according to North Las Vegas police.

Charles Darville Young was booked into the Las Vegas City Jail on Friday on charges of luring a minor with a computer for sex acts and open and gross lewdness, police said in a news release.

Young is a teacher's aide at Sedway Middle School, 3465 Englestad St., near Gowan Road and Commerce Street. Authorities were notified on June 2 of allegations of inappropriate conduct between Young and a student, a 15-year-old boy, that happened off-campus in January.

A Clark County School District spokesman told the Review-Journal that Young had been suspended. Young is being held on a $22,000 bail, jail records show. A traffic warrant was issued for Young on Aug. 14, according to online records from the the Las Vegas Marshal's office.
