Two hospitalized after vehicle strikes cars, pedestrian

A car accident involving three vehicles and one pedestrian sent two to the hospital and closed parts of Bonanza Road for nearly seven hours this morning, according to Las Vegas police.
The collision, which took place at 11:32 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Bonanza Road and Martin Luther King Boulevard, occurred after the driver of a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu failed to stop at a red light, said police.
A 2004 Honda Accord was stopped at the northbound traffic light on Martin Luther King Boulevard, and a 2005 Hyundai Accent was traveling eastbound on
Bonanza Road, when the driver of the Malibu ran through the red light. After colliding with the Accent in the intersection, the driver of the Malibu continued down Martin Luther King Boulevard where he struck a pedestrian in the crosswalk, and stopped after hitting the Accord.
The pedestrian, who was identified as 59-year-old Roger Berg, was transported and admitted to University Medical Center and was listed in serious condition. The driver of the Accent, identified as 32-year-old Laura Rosales, was also transported to UMC for minor injuries.
The intersection of Bonanza Road and Martin Luther King Boulevard was closed, as well as traffic in both directions of Bonanza Road. The intersection was reopened at about 6 a.m.
The accident remains under investigation by Las Vegas police.
