Two injured in accident on Blue Diamond Road; lanes closed

A two-vehicle accident Wednesday morning on Blue Diamond Road and Dean Martin Drive has three lanes closed, according to Nevada Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred about 7:45 a.m. Two cars, eastbound on Blue Diamond Road, collided just west of Dean Martin Drive, NHP trooper Loy Hixson said.

Two people were transported to Spring Valley Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Metro said there were reports that one of the drivers experienced a medical episode prior to the accident and that driver was unconscious.

Three eastbound lanes on Blue Diamond Road are closed. Hixson says it might be closed for another hour and a half until tow trucks arrive and clear the area.
