Woman gets six months in jail in plot to kill husband

A woman was sentenced Tuesday to six months in jail and five years of probation for trying to hire two men, including an undercover Las Vegas police officer, to kill her husband.

Leslie Zdehovan, 48, pleaded guilty via an Alford plea to one felony count of attempted solicitation to commit murder in October. The Alford plea means she did not admit guilt but agreed that prosecutors could prove their case.

Zdehovan, also known as Leslie Lachance, was arrested in August after she tried to use $12,000 to hire two separate hitmen to kill her husband.

District Judge James Bixler sentenced Zdehovan after a hearing Tuesday. Bixler allowed the defendant until July 1 to get her affairs in order, which includes moving to Pennsylvania where she hopes to serve her sentence. If Pennsylvania authorities do not agree to oversee her sentence, she must return to Nevada, Bixler ordered.
