Woman struck, killed by pickup in northeast valley

A 46-year-old pedestrian was killed when she was hit by a pickup Tuesday morning in the northeast valley, Las Vegas police said.

The 1997 Dodge 1500 truck, driven by a 69-year-old Las Vegas man, was headed west on Lake Mead Boulevard when the front end struck the Las Vegas woman crossing the Linn Lane intersection about 5:30 a.m., police said.

The driver reported the crash and the woman died at the scene, police said.

Lake Mead between Christy and Sloan lanes was closed for nearly six hours in both directions while Metro’s fatal unit investigated.
