A woman Las Vegas police initially said was dead after a single-vehicle crash is still alive but in critical condition, Metro said Thursday.
Police responded to the crash at 9:20 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Cliff Shadows Parkway and Diegoville Place, a small street between Lone Mountain and Alexander roads.
Lilia Zubia Chavez, 72, was taken to Summerlin Hospital and Medical Center, police said.
Metro spokeswoman Officer Laura Meltzer said police are investigating whether Chavez’s injuries were cause by the crash or a medical episode.
It’s unclear why police initially thought she was dead.
