Arizona man dies when RV catches fire

KINGMAN, Ariz. — A Lake Havasu City man was killed when his motor home burst into flames Monday afternoon.

City Fire Marshal Chip Shilosky said William Daugherty, 65, was trying to move the RV to position it for possible sale when it caught fire while parked along the side of his home in the 1600 block of Cactus Wren Drive about 12:34 p.m.

Shilosky said the vehicle hadn’t been started in some time, that Daugherty had poured gasoline into the carburetor and that the fuel ignited when he tried to get the engine running.

The RV was destroyed and the side of the home suffered some fire and smoke damage.

No other injuries were reported.
