Ex-UNR VP Taylor named to Washoe School Board

RENO — A former vice president at the University of Nevada, Reno who grew up attending Washoe County schools has been named to the school district’s board of trustees.

The board voted unanimously Tuesday to appoint Angela Taylor to replace David Aiazzi.

Aiazzi announced he was stepping down in early November due to health issues. Taylor will serve the remainder of his term through November 2016.

Taylor graduated from Hug High School and received bachelor, masters and doctoral degrees at UNR. She was the university’s first associate vice president for student success services and now owns a corporate training company, Guardian Quest Inc.

She was among five finalists vying for the open slot on the School Board.
