Kingman Cadillac killer sentenced to prison

KINGMAN, Ariz. — A Kingman man who used his Cadillac to run over and kill another Kingman man in November 2011 was sentenced to 20 years in prison Friday.

Punishment imposed by Mohave County Superior Court Judge Steve Conn was stipulated in a plea agreement for Michael Rivera, 50.

Rivera pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for the death of Nicolas Gerenscer, 21, and the attempted murder of Gerenscer’s father.

Investigators and the case prosecutor alleged an ongoing conflict between the parties as Gerenscer had been dating Rivera’s step-daughter.
