Lake Havasu death under investigation
The Mohave County sheriff's office is investigating the weekend death of a California man at Lake Havasu in Arizona.
Rene Recio, 75, of Covina, Calif., was just north of Cattail Cove State Park on Saturday afternoon when he jumped from the back of a boat into about 5 feet of water, sheriff's office spokeswoman Trish Carter said.
Witnesses told deputies Recio was swimming around before he was discovered floating face down near the boat.
Resuscitation efforts failed and Recio was pronounced dead at the Cattail Cove boat launch, about 170 miles south of Las Vegas. An autopsy and cause of death determination are pending.
