All southbound lanes on Interstate 15 south of Las Vegas have reopened after a deadly crash caused a major backup Thursday.

Just before 3 a.m., the Nevada Highway Patrol responded to the crash involving two vehicles and a semitrailer on northbound I-15 near Moapa Valley.
A year-long project on Interstate 15 between Mesquite and St. George, Utah, began Wednesday, with vehicles carrying loads wider than 10 feet required to take a a 224-mile detour.
A yearlong $6.4 million roadwork project on Interstate 15 between Las Vegas and Utah will result in wide-load restrictions and lane closures.
