Police seeking suspect in Thursday night shooting death

Las Vegas police are still looking for a suspect in Thursday night’s fatal central valley shooting.

About 7:40 p.m. Thursday police were called to the 1700 block of North J Street where they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds on the ground in an apartment complex. He was later pronounced dead at University Medical Center.

Police believe the victim was involved in an argument with a woman when a man shot him multiple times with a handgun.

Police have released few details, but have said the shooter ran from the scene. No arrests had been made by noon Friday.

The Clark County coroner’s office will identify the victim, as well as the cause of death, once next of kin has been notified.

This is the 92nd homicide in Metro’s jurisdiction in 2014.
