Reno man sent to prison for dog torture, mutilation

RENO — A Reno man who pleaded no contest to torturing and mutilating dogs in a motel room was sentenced Thursday to 28 years in prison.

Jason Brown, 25, had earlier pleaded no contest to seven counts of willfully torturing animals, The Associated Press reported.

Brown was arrested in July 2014 when an employee at the motel he was staying at found body parts and remains of dogs in his room.
