ROAD ALERT: Downtown streets to close for novelty Sprinkler Sprint 5K
Downtown Las Vegas streets will become water hazards with street closures for five hours Saturday morning thanks to a special event.
The Sprinkler Sprint 5K, a novelty event sponsored by Downtown Runners Las Vegas, is a run and walk through a variety of water features including rain towers, tunnels, water cannons and a row of Super Soakers.
Las Vegas Boulevard, Sixth, Seventh, Eighth and Ninth streets will be closed between Fremont Street and Hoover Avenue from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. for the event.
The event begins at 9 a.m. and the course starts and ends at the Container Park.
Registration for the event closes Friday and costs $50 for adults and $15 for children 6-13. Discounts are available for groups of six or 10.
