Las Vegas Valley high temperature Tuesday ties 66-year-old record
November 8, 2016 - 6:40 pm
Tuesday’s high in the Las Vegas Valley hit 83 degrees, tying a 66-year-old record set for the date in 1950, according to the National Weather Service.
Needles, California — 111 miles south of Las Vegas — broke its own 2006 record high of 90 degrees with a new high of 92 degrees for the date, meteorologist Andy Gorelow said.
Warm temperatures are expected to stick around throughout the week, Gorelow said. The above-normal temperatures are caused by high pressure over the area, he said.
Wednesday’s forecast high is 80 degrees, and Thursday and Friday’s highs should climb to near 79 and 75 degrees, respectively.
The above normal temperatures are due to high pressure over the area, Gorelow said.
No rain is expected the remainder of the week.
