Las Vegas Valley is warming up into the weekend
Warmer temps are on the horizon, according to the National Weather Service.
The Las Vegas Valley can expect sunny and clear skies through the rest of the week, meteorologist Jenn Varian said.
After Thursday’s high of 48 degrees, temperatures should warm up on Friday and Saturday with highs of 52 and 55, respectively, and overnight lows in the 30s.
Come Sunday, the valley can expect a high of 57, about 5 degrees cooler than the average high around this time of year, Varian said.
Sunday will see a 20 percent chance of showers overnight, the weather service said. High winds are expected Sunday evening and night at 20 mph to 30 mph, with gusts up to 40 mph.
Monday’s high will be about 53, followed by 54 on Tuesday.
Overnight lows are forecast to be in the high 30s Sunday and Monday.
A sunny weekend is expected at Lee Canyon with winds around 20 mph on, Varian said. There will be a 40 percent chance for snow showers on Saturday, and a 30 to 40 percent chance Sunday afternoon and night.
If snow falls, it’s not expected to accumulate much, the weather service said.
Lee Canyon has recorded 18.7 inches of snowfall within the last four days, according to the weather service. Skiers and snowboarders with plans to visit Lee Canyon are encouraged to check nvroads.com for chain restrictions.
