Thunderstorms hit Las Vegas Valley on Friday

The Las Vegas Valley is heading into a warmer week after weekend moisture moves out, according to the National Weather Service.

Friday’s thunderstorms might stick around through Saturday afternoon, but by Sunday the storms should be gone from the valley.

By 7:30 p.m. Friday, the valley only saw .08 of an inch of rain, but U.S. Highway 95 was completely flooded between mile markers 36 and 39 just north of Searchlight. Reports of flooding came in just 23 minutes after the weather service issued a flash flood advisory for the area.

Friday saw a high of 98 degrees, the weather service said. Temperatures will fall to 92 degrees on Saturday before shooting back up to 98 degrees on Sunday.

Temperatures will rise as the storm system leaves the valley, with 103 degrees forecast for Monday and 104 degrees for Tuesday, according to the weather service.
