Triple-digit highs returning to valley this week

Typical summer weather is coming back to the Las Vegas Valley, the National Weather Service said.

The very slight chance of rain forecast for Sunday was just that, and the valley did not see any precipitation and should not at least through the week, meteorologist John Salmen said.

Sunday shined at a high of 97 degrees, Salmen said. The low reached dipped to 77 degrees.

The weather will continue to warm up into Monday with a 98-degree high and a 79-degree low, meteorologist Chad Shafer said. From there, the numbers will start to take off into the 100s, ranging from 101 to 105 on Tuesday through Friday.
