Warmest day of 2017 on Friday breaks record for date

The Las Vegas Valley saw its warmest day of 2017 and broke a record for the date with a high of 76 degrees on Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

Winds picked up with gusts around 25 miles per hour Friday, and the valley had a 50 percent chance for showers overnight. The chances for showers decrease to 20 percent Saturday morning, Steele said.

Saturday’s high will drop to 64 degrees, and winds are expected to stay in the 20 mph range, Steele said.

Sunday will be calm and clear with a high of 67 degrees. Next week should start off with a high of 69 degrees on Monday.

The rest of the week should stay in the low- to mid-70s. Rain may return by the end of the work week.
