Squeeze bunt keys Faith Lutheran win in Connie Mack state tournament

Liam Bredin’s squeeze bunt with one out in the top of the sixth Monday scored Paul Shawn Pasqualotto to break a 2-2 tie and lift the Crusaders to a 3-2 victory over the Las Vegas Bengals in the Connie Mack state tournament at the College of Southern Nevada.

BASEBALL: Gorman rallies twice to stun Shadow Ridge

Braxton Wehrle’s two-out single to center field in the bottom of the eighth inning plated Bryce Ruggeroli with the winning run as Bishop Gorman’s baseball team rallied in both the seventh and eighth innings to edge visiting Shadow Ridge 7-6 on Tuesday.

DIVISION I BASEBALL HONORS: Decolati’s development rewarded

Cimarron-Memorial senior shortstop Niko Decolati has been named the Division I Southern Nevada Player of the Year by area baseball coaches. He hit .411 with 10 home runs and 25 RBIs this season for the Spartans.
