ROUNDUP: Quintana powers Aggies to sweep of Warriors

Zach Quintana went 6-for-7 with a home run, two doubles, five runs scored and four RBIs Saturday to help Arbor View’s baseball team to a 10-2, 13-2 sweep of visiting Western in the Bengal-Aggie Kickoff.
Quintana was 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs in the opening game for the Aggies. Teammate Tyler LeBaron went 2-for-4 with two doubles.
In the nightcap, Quintana went 4-for-5 with a homer, a double and four runs.
Bryce Wildenberg was 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles, and P.J. Gonzalez went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and three runs for the Aggies.
Western’s Anthony Chojnacki hit two doubles in the first game.
Spring Valley 12-14, Basic 2-4 — At Spring Valley, Jose Rosales-Rodarte threw a five-inning two-hitter and went 2-for-4 with a double and four RBIs in the opening game as the Grizzlies swept a twinbill against the Wolves in the Bengal-Aggie Kickoff.
Robby Brewster was 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs, and Cody Foremaster went 1-for-3 with a homer and three RBIs for Spring Valley in the opener.
Michael Macove went 3-for-3 and scored four runs in the nightcap to lead the Grizzlies. Rosales-Rodarte was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.
In the second game, eleven batters were hit by pitches.
Silverado 12-5, Bonanza 6-2 — At Bonanza, Michael Meyers was 3-for-4 with a solo homer, two runs and two RBIs in the opener to help the Skyhawks sweep the Bengals in the Bengal-Aggie Kickoff.
Wyatt Reid and Vincent Taormina each had a triple for Silverado, which used a six-run sixth inning to pull away for the win.
Brett Doyle went 2-for-4 with two doubles for Bonanza.
In the nightcap, Taormina went 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored and an RBI, and Meyers pitched a scoreless seventh to notch a save for Silverado, which scored four runs in the top of the fifth.
Doyle finished 2-for-3 for the Bengals.
Sierra Vista 9, Faith Lutheran 8 – At Sierra Vista, the Mountain Lions rallied for four runs in the bottom of the sixth to edge the Crusaders in a game shortened to six innings by the Lion Kickoff Tournament’s time limit.
Nicolas Vanderberg drove in the winning run with a groundout.
Robert Lee and Daniel Gonzales each had three hits for Sierra Vista.
Faith Lutheran 8, Coronado 3 – At Sierra Vista, Zach Skipper had three hits, including a double, and three RBIs to lead the Crusaders past the Cougars in five innings at the Lion Kickoff Tournament.
Josh Murtha added two hits and an RBI, and Caleb Summerhays homered for Faith Lutheran, which got three hits and four stolen bases from David Edson.
Cody Howard had a double and a triple for Coronado.
Coronado 6, Green Valley 5 – At Sierra Vista, the Cougars scored four runs in the top of the third and held on to beat the Gators in six innings at the Lion Kickoff Tournament.
Dillon Fahr had two RBIs, and Kaleb Blyton was 1-for-2 with a double for Coronado.
Green Valley threatened in the fifth, cutting the lead to 6-5 when Alec Hutt was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.
But Howard, who had hit the previous two batters, struck out Bryan Baugh with the bases loaded to end the threat.
Centennial 10, Durango 6 — At Durango, Mike Rosenkrantz was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, and the Bulldogs rallied from a 5-2 second-inning deficit to top the Trailblazers in the Lion Kickoff Tournament.
Bryan Bonnell and Ian Ogurek each went 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Centennial.
Bobby Wright belted a second-inning grand slam for Durango.
Centennial 8, Palo Verde 2 — At Durango, Rosenkrantz and Mike Yenkowski each went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, and the Bulldogs scored seven runs in the final two innings to pull away from the Panthers in the Lion Kickoff Tournament.
Austin Nelson was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Centennial.
Palo Verde 6, Durango 2 — At Durango, Alex Blutman went 2-for-3, and the Panthers scored three times in the top of the first inning on their way to a five-inning win over the Trailblazers in the Lion Kickoff Tournament.
Pleasant Grove (Utah) 13, Foothill 2 — At St. George, Utah, Tyler Harmon notched a five-inning win to help the Vikings cruise past the Falcons in the Snow Canyon Classic.
Brandon Van Stone went 2-for-2 with a walk, a double and a run scored for Foothill.
Cimarron-Memorial 6, American Fork (Utah) 3 — At St. George, Utah, Effie Garcia’s bases-loaded, two-out single in the seventh inning broke a 3-3 tie and lifted the Spartans past the Cavemen in the Snow Canyon Classic.
Niko Decolati was 2-for-2 with two RBIs, and MicQuel Robinson was 2-for-4 with two runs for Cimarron.
Lehi (Utah) 7, Cimarron-Memorial 6 — At St. George, Utah, Nolan Padilla scored the winning run on a passed ball in the bottom of the seventh inning as the Pioneers edged the Spartans in the Snow Canyon Classic.
Decolati went 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI, and Josh Neurnberg was 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs for Cimarron, which trailed 6-1 after two innings but rallied to tie the game.
Rancho 7, Delta (Utah) 4 — At St. George, Utah, freshman Matt Almodover tossed a complete-game three-hitter to help the Rams hold off the Rabbits in the Desert Hills Classic.
Bryce Harrell, David Moder and Eric Allen each notched a double for Rancho, and teammate Josh Mill smacked a triple.
Timpanogos (Utah) 9, Rancho 5 — At St. George, Utah, Allen was 2-for-3 with a double and a triple in the Rams’ loss to the Timberwolves in the Desert Hills Classic.
Mojave 6, Moapa Valley 5 — At Mesquite, Carlos Romo’s two-out, two-run single in the sixth inning brought home Brian Potter and Ryan Lawrence with the tying and go-ahead runs as the Rattlers nipped the Pirates in the third-place game of the Cactus Classic.
David Rowley was 3-for-4 with a double for Mojave.
Parowan (Utah) 6-15, Cheyenne 5-4 — At Cheyenne, Samuel Tenorio was 3-for-3 with an RBI, but the Rams swept a doubleheader from the Desert Shields.
In the opener, Jericho Lindsay went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and Lamond Harvey finished 2-for-3 with an RBI for Cheyenne.
Canyon View (Utah) 11, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, two Canyon View pitchers combined on a five-inning no-hitter as the Pioneers fell to the Falcons.
Williams (Ariz.) 15, Mountain View 8 — At Mohave Valley, Ariz., Johnathan Hernandez smacked a bases-clearing triple as part of a seven-run uprising with two outs in the second inning as the Vikings downed the Saints in the Route 66 Tournament.
Luke Fauble was 3-for-3 with a triple, two runs scored and an RBI for Mountain View.
Sandy Valley 12-18, Agassi Prep 2-4 — At Sandy Valley, Jeremy Hall went 2-for-4 with a double and four RBIs in each game to help the Sidewinders sweep a doubleheader from the Stars.
Randall Spencer was 2-for-4 with three RBIs in the opener for Sandy Valley, which also got a three-run triple from Dustin Smith.
In the nightcap, the Sidewinders’ Westt Payne went 2-for-2 with a double and four RBIs, Ryan Hagan was 2-for-2 with three RBIs and Spencer finished 2-for-3 with three RBIs.
