3A BOYS HONORS: Leading role of Bulldogs’ Jensen nets league MVP status

Cameron Jensen guided Virgin Valley’s boys basketball team all season, both in the statistical column and as a leader.

The senior shooting guard also headlined Class 3A Southern League honors recently, as voted by league coaches.

Jensen was named Most Valuable Player, and Virgin Valley’s Rich Bohne took the Coach of the Year award.

Jensen scored 20.5 points per game as a senior, leading the Bulldogs (15-10) to the regular-season league title and the championship game of the league tournament.

The 6-foot-3-inch senior added averages of 3.4 rebounds, 2.3 steals, 2.2 assists and 1.4 blocks.

Virgin Valley also placed guard Brandon Cohen and center Daniel Gleave to the first team.
