BASKETBALL: Locke’s layup lifts Mountain View boys by The Meadows

Ian Locke’s layup with 7.4 seconds remaining in the game Saturday lifted Mountain View’s boys basketball team to a 63-61 home win over The Meadows in the regular-season finale for both teams.

Tevin Gray’s pass set up the winning basket for the Saints, who rallied from a 54-47 deficit after three quarters.

Tyrell Brooks scored all 16 of his points in the second half to lead Mountain View. Connor LeBoeuf had 15 points, seven rebounds and four steals, and Locke added 13 points and four steals for the Saints.

Jake Epstein had 21 points to lead the Mustangs, and teammate Asheesh Chopra scored 16. Epstein missed a potential game-tying runner in the lane as time expired.

Agassi Prep 85, White Pine 28 — At Ely, the Stars completed a perfect regular season with a rout of the Bobcats.

GIRLS

Bailey Gosse had 17 points, six rebounds and four steals to help The Meadows to a 40-26 win at Mountain View.

Hana Resch added eight points and 14 rebounds, and Cassidy Gosse grabbed 10 rebounds for the Mustangs.

Kiley Murphy led Mountain View with 10 points.

White Pine 68, Agassi Prep 50 — At Ely, the Bobcats topped the Stars.
