BOYS BASKETBALL: Second-quarter spurt powers Centennial to win

Troy Brown scored nine of his 16 points in the second quarter to power Centennial's boys basketball team to an 80-62 win over West Salem (Ore.) in the Capitol City Classic in Salem, Ore.

Brown helped the Bulldogs outscore the Titans 27-10 in the second quarter to take a 49-26 halftime lead.

Roy Sparks added 14 points, and teammate Jake Hutchings scored 12 for Centennial.

Hunter Johnson and Bryson Splonski each had 16 points for the West Salem.

Lahainaluna (Hawaii) 52, Foothill 48 — At Lahaina, Hawaii, Tavake Faleta had 13 points and Gage Johnson scored 12 to lead the Lunas over the Falcons in the Lahainaluna Invitational.

Marvin Coleman had eight points to pace Foothill.
