2012-13 record: 11-12 (5-5 Sunset, fourth)

Returning lettermen (starters): Three (zero)

Top players: G Jarrell Bell (Sr.), G Javon Peterson (Sr.), C Dominic Jackson-Anasson (Jr.)

Outlook: With no starters back, the Desert Shields will ask a lot of players to increase their production.

Bell, who averaged 3.2 points and 2.3 assists per game, likely will be the team’s point guard. Peterson is back as a combo guard, and Jackson-Anasson, who is 6-feet, 7-inches tall, gives Cheyenne size.

“It’s a very inexperienced team, but has the potential to be very competitive,” Fair said. “We’re hoping to contend for a playoff berth.”
